A Pennsylvania-based operator had lost tools inside its production tubing in a Marcellus gas well during slickline operations.
A P&G rig and snubbing unit were mobilized to the site to remove the tubing from the well under pressure. A combination of the stuck tools and scale build-up at the bottom of the tubing forced the crew to pull a “wet string” during freezing winter temperatures. Nonetheless, the tubing was removed, replaced and snubbed back into the well in a safe and timely manner.
