Description:
The job of the Class A/B Truck Driver is to safely operate a variety of tractor/trailer combinations on a daily basis. Truck variants include: water truck, crude oil truck, winch truck with lowboy trailer, dump truck, pipe truck, cement pump truck, and cement bulk truck. The Truck Driver reports directly to the Transportation Supervisor. Responsibilities include:
- Transport equipment and raw materials from storage yards to job locations
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving in Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs)
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Collect and verify delivery instructions
- Report defects, accidents or violations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1-3 years of experience driving on a commercial drivers license (CDL) required
- Ability to perform manual labor required to conduct basic loading/unloading operations
- Competent communication, people, and leadership skills
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
